Skin Peel Treatment

At Runway Aesthetics, we offer a wide range of chemical skin peels in East Midlands, offering our clients a gentler, more effective alternative to physical exfoliation. Skin peels are a non-invasive treatment which use non-toxic chemicals such as salicylic acid to exfoliate the skin, remove dead cells, and leave behind a fresh, soft, smooth surface.

A good chemical skin peel in East Midlands will typically use salicylic acid or alpha or beta hydroxy acid which is applied directly to the skin. The acid works in a similar way to physical exfoliants such as abrasive cleansers but they do not rub, pull, or drag the skin making them a more gentle solution for resurfacing. Skin peel treatments are most commonly used on the face and neck area, but can also be used for hands and feet.
As a leader in chemical skin peel in East Midlands, here at Runway Aesthetics we’re trained to deliver a wide range of different skin peels to suit a variety of skin types.
  • - Obagi Blue Peel Radiance
This is a mild to moderate strength peel which is often recommended for aging skin or for skin that is looking dull and tired. It provides a powerful boost to the complexion, and results in a tighter, smoother, and more glowing appearance with a fresh, youthful look.
  • - TCA Peel
This is a moderate depth peel which improves surface wrinkles and blemishes while also minimising signs of sun damage and creating a more even skin tone. Your practitioner may recommend the stronger Unideep peel for skin that is more heavily damaged.
  • - Alumier Radiant 20/10 Peel
This is one of the most mild chemical skin peels in East Midlands and is suitable for many different types of skin. It uses both alpha (AHA) and beta (BHA) hydroxy acids to rejuvenate tired looking skin, minimise large pores, and target acne and acne scarring.
  • - Alumier Radiant 30 Peel
This is a stronger alternative to the Alumier 20/10 peel, using alpha hydroxy acid and lactic acid. It is an excellent choice for aging skin, and for those struggling to tackle sun-related hyperpigmentation, or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation from acne.
  • - Alumier Glow
This is a moderate depth skin peel that works best for dull, tired looking skin as it creates a smoother, brighter appearance. It is one of the more intense resurfacing peels, tackling hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles, and removing dead skin cells.
At our East Midlands clinic, our experienced practitioners will cleanse and prepare the skin following a full consultation to ensure the right peel is selected for your skin type and your own particular concerns. Once prepared, the correct acid solution will be applied directly to your skin, and allowed to absorb. Once fully absorbed, a post-peel cream which includes SPF will be applied. This is to protect the skin following the treatment.

A skin peel treatment does not hurt, but a warm, tingling sensation may be experienced when the solution is applied to the skin. Peels with a deeper depth may create slight redness, and over the following days it is not unusual to notice a small amount of peeling as the acids get to work. Mild depth peels typically have no side effects. As a non-invasive treatment, you can continue with everyday tasks/activities immediately.
As the skin may be more sensitive than normal following a chemical skin peel in East Midlands, it is advised to use SPF 30 or above every day on the treatment area for 7 days (or more)

following the procedure, and avoid direct exposure to the sun. It is also important not to irritate the skin, so be sure to use gentle, hydrating products only and stay away from both chemical and physical exfoliants which may produce redness.
When performed by an experienced practitioner, skin peels are very safe. However, they are not recommended for anyone who has used topical acids or had hair removal treatments in the last 7 days as these treatments can make the skin more sensitive.
Some of the effects of a skin peel may be permanent while others will typically last for 1-2 years depending on the strength of the peel treatment and each patient’s own post-peel skin care routine. For best results, regular treatments are recommended.
